Job Overview

Reporting to the research associate, downstream, you will be working closely with our researchers at the Suncor research and development (R&D) facility in Mississauga. Your area of focus would be the development of our plant health products.

Key Accountabilities
•Making, testing and applying formulations in the field to support our company’s ongoing research
•Taking ratings and interpreting the data to draw appropriate conclusions
•Application of statistical knowledge to analyze lab results in relation to our previous research
•Assist senior researchers with research projects and activities
•Other duties may include assisting with our laboratory chemical management

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:
•Previous co-op experience is an asset
•Currently enrolled in year two or later of a bachelor of science degree concentrating in biology, biochemistry or chemistry, and returning to full-time studies after the work term

Skills and Knowledge:
•You collaborate with others to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
•You continually seek greater knowledge about the systems, processes and hazards in the workplace, to understand not just what you do but why you do it
•You do not take or tolerate shortcuts and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it
•You constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems

Working Conditions
•This is a student position for a term of 4 or 8 months starting in January 2018
•This position is located at our Mississauga R&D facility at 2489 North Sheridan Way, Mississauga
